Greetings All List Members!!
Now that 2021 is upon us, it is time for a brand new year of chess!!
So, with no further ado, lets get started!!
I would like to invite everyone to join in and play in the first tournament
of 2021!
Are you just a beginner, no problem! Are you rusty and have not played in
several years, no problem!
This tournament is for all players, whether you are a beginner or you have
been playing for years!
And if you are not currently a member of the US BCA, no worries, by signing
up for the tournament, you will also be signing up for our membership, which
is totally free!
The Tournament will begin on Friday, January 15, 2021.
So how does it work?
In the 2021 Divisional Tournament of Hope, everyone will be divided into
divisions depending on their playing strength. Each player will play the
other players in their division in two games, once as white and once as
black. There will be 10 rounds in the tournament, each round starting on the
15th of each month. At the end of the tournament, the player that has the
most wins in each division will be a Divisional Winner in the 2021 Divisional
Tournament of Hope!
So what do you think? Can you take home the gold and win your division?
To sum things up:
* This is a correspondence tournament played by email.
* Participants of the tournament will be divided into divisions, no more than
6 players, depending on their playing strength.
* Not at the same time or back to back, but you will play each player in your
division two times, once as white and once as black.
* The tournament will consist of 10 rounes, each round starting on the 15th
of each month.
* At the end of the tournament, the player who wins the most games in their
division will be a Divisional Winner of the tournament!
This is going to be a fun and enjoyable tournament with lots of competition,
so I would highly encourage you to sign up!! It is a good way to meet and get
to know other people in the US BCA, while doing one of our favorite past
times... playing chess!
I would hate for you to miss out on such a great event, so to sign up, please
send your request to me as soon as possible, but no later than January 13,
2021.
Please send it to:
chaffin102468@xxxxxxxxx
So don't delay, sign up today!!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know!
With very best wishes,
Chris Chaffin
