Before I tell you about the upcoming tournament, the US BCA has a big
announcement!!
For the first time ever, the US BCA has decided to open up our membership free
to everyone!
That is right!! Anyone who would like to join the US BCA and play chess, then
you can do so absolutely free!!
So do not delay, come join the fun!!
Now that 2018 is underway, only the sky is the limit of what you can accomplish
this year!!
And in reaching for the sky, it is best if you work on climbing one rung of the
ladder at a time!!
So to help you climb that ladder, let me invite you to participate in the 2018
US BCA Correspondence Ladder Tournament!!
That is right!! The popular US BCA Correspondence Ladder Tournament is back!!
Here is how it will work:
* This is a correspondence tournament played by email.
* The tournament starts on February 2.
* All participants will be listed from lowest to highest according to their
current playing strength. So this means that a player with a strong playing
strength will start in the bottom half of the ladder, where a player with a
weaker playing strength will start in the top half of the ladder.
* Each participant will represent a rung on the ladder. The goal is to move
up the ladder by playing and winning games against players occupying the rungs
above you.
* At the end of the tournament, the player that occupys the #1 top position of
the Ladder will be the Champion of the Ladder and will win the tournament!!
So what do you say?? Up for the challenge??
