I find doing puzzles with people helps really nail down board awareness and
coordinate understanding. Also I wouldn’t be to worried about that game your
opponent played a Smith Moria gambit which is popular right now but if you’ve
never studied it the opening can definitely through you out of whack. Just have
to add it to the mountain of theory that is the joy of the Sicilian.
