Hi Jim,
Very nice to eMeet you. Congratulations on your Presidency and the work of the
association. The hotel rate is available until October 1st. I encourage
reserving a room if you are uncertain and then cancelling later as you can
cancel a few days before arrival but won't get the rate after October 1st.
In terms of what members need to know. This will be a 4-round Swiss tournament
unless we don't get enough people. The rounds are at 10am and 4pm each day.
Registration will be Saturday from 9-9:45am for those who don't register
before. Then it will be a 4-player round robin. The time control is Game in 135
minutes with zero second delay. That means each game can take up to four and a
half hours.
Players must be members of US Chess and declared legally blind (bring some form
of verification).
We will be catering meals since there is no restaurant onsite. We'll likely do
sandwiches, pizza, etc. -- basically what I can get from nearby restaurants.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks,
Nita

Hello,
Introducing myself. This is Jim Homme, new President of the US Braille Chess
Association. Please convey my gratitude for all responsible for the
sponsorship of this year’s National Blind Championship.
I am completely new to organizing events, so would covet any information or
help you can supply that I can pass onto our membership. Some questions on my
mind are:
How long is the rate available at the hotel?
When is the latest members can book rooms?
What do members need to know about participating?
Thanks again so much.
Jim
