Dear Jim and All Board Members,
Good Deal, Congratulations on a wonderful action! USBCA Name Change
I wanted to do this twenty years ago!
How many Low vision, or partially sighted Chess Players did not join our
group, because they did not read Braille and thought they would have to
before they could play games with members of our group?
Hundreds?
Anyway, that is resolved now!
Thanks for a good positive move!
With best regards.
God Bless.

Subject: [usbca_chess] USBCA Name Change
Hi All,
At our last board meeting, the bord voted to change the name of our group
from the United States Braille Chess Association to the United States Blind
Chess Association. We felt that doing this made it so that the name more
closely reflects the larger blindness community. This would include everyone
who does not read braille, and those who have low vision.
As a reminder, I have an open door policy and want to know what you feel
your board can do to make the United States Blind Chess Association better.
You will start seeing the name change on our website when the guys who work
on it are able to get that taken care of.
Thanks.
Jim
