Hi Che,ECO Codes \ . D04: Queen's Pawn Game: 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.e3Che's game1.
d4 d52. e3 Nf63. Nf3Your chess game has the same chessboard layout as the
Queen's Pawn Game when 3. white move is completed. Even though move 2 is
different, you get the same layout by white at the third move.Edward

Subject: [usbca_chess] A novice game for analysis
Hi all,
I played a live game a bit ago on liChess that I ended up resigning.
I am working on learning the basics of the colle system, so I played white and
started with that opening.
I am wondering if this would be a good game to step through and analyze myself
to see what I can learn from it.
However, there were some blunders, by both myself and the opponent, so maybe I
should wait until I have something where I don't drop the ball so hard on my
toes.
If anyone looks at this, I just couldn't figure out the best way to go on move
22, any thoughts there in particular appreciated.
I have pasted the game below, as well as attaching the raw pgn that liChess
generates, the only change is I broke the moves up one per line to make it
easier to read with screen readers.
If you export a raw file from liChess, this is what you get for those
interested.
I understand the header information in the file, except for the line:
[ECO "D04"]
What does that refer to?
Thanks for any advice,
Che

Hi Che et al,
I'm guessing, here, but maybe you're using a remote keyboard? Using Shredder on
IPhone, IPad, without using a remote keyboard, the Evaluation item is just
below the board layout, just to the right of the Captured Pieces item, I'd say
just below the c-file if the board orientation is from white's perspective, or
just below the f-file, if the board orientation is from black's perspective.
HTH,

I think it just means without the stockfish analysis included, but not
positive about that.
Btw, I only did the b,c,d, and e files with the pronunciation thing on my
iPhone, the rest I can make out.
Now if I could just find a quick way to get down to that evaluation button and
back, that would be sweet.
Having a blue tooth keyboard helps, but still not a quick thing.
Later taters

Hi Che:
Thanks for this.
What’s the “raw format” you mention in terms of Lichess?

Ok, I should have done this early on but wasn't sure if I was gonna stick
with shredder long term.
, anyhow figured out how to change the pronunciation so that shredder
announces NATO, takes a bit of time, but well worth it.
Go to settings>voiceover>speech>pronunciation
Then simply add what you want changed, then what you want it changed
to So for example put e4 in the first field and echo 4 in the second, and
bang, bob's your uncle. Just rinse and repeat for each one you want changed.
This makes it much easier to accurately hear where shredder moved.
As for exporting from liChess, after a game finishes, turn off blind mode,
then you should have export options.
I export mine in raw format, but you can include the computer analysis as
well if you want.
My layout may be a bit different, as I have exported games before, not
positive, but you may need to click on fin and pgn first to get the export
options up, but it can definitely be done.
For those of you that haven't checked out liChess, it is well worth the
limited amount of time it takes to learn how to use it.
Hope that helps some,
Che

Hi Tyson:
Sorry I should’ve specified this game was a practice game on Shredder with no
time controls.
I think you can do time controls on there but I haven’t figured out how.
Yeah I think the king was part of something, it was really weird.
I offered it a draw and it told me it wanted to play a little bit longer so
yeah.

Jorge et al,
Two early errors to highlight. Why not 7 Nxh3 developing a piece and
preserving your Pawn structure? Why doesn't the engine play 11...Kxf7?
My other observations are that
1) at the rate the engine was going then if you'd carried on you would have
got a draw under the 50-move rule. The Black King must be used to help
create a mating net.
2) some engines do recognise a five-time repetition.
3) If you've played a 109 move game since I last posted then you're still
playing too quickly! I've only had a handful of games over 100 moves in my
entire OTB career.
