Yesterday, I dutifully walked outside our SE Roseburg house (near Rose School)
to spend 15 minutes for this weekend’s Great Backyard Bird Count. The first
thing I saw was a Merlin perched in a tall conifer, who stayed there for almost
the whole 15 minutes I watched. I only recorded 5 species, but it’s only my
second Merlin falcon this year.
