I have compared speeds of UAE on MacOS X with harddisk emulation as=20
well as with diskfile.
Here are the results:

=
        harddiskemulation diskfile
boot Workbenwith AmigaOS 3.9 =
75 secs 65 secs

load 68 kB of data and display as graphic =
49 secs 48=20
secs

read file of 68 kB and display it as table beginning at the end 20 secs=20=

                18 secs

save file of 68 kB
=
        41 secs 35 secs

read file of of 25 stocks and append to 25 flies
=
48 secs =20
    44 secs

As you can see a diskfile under MacOS X seem slightly faster than an=20
emulated Harddisk.

The problems exist also for german keyboards on MacOS X.

The outlined keys show no reaction under UAE on MacOS X. It concerns
the ASCII codes 176, 167, 63, 39, 29, 252, 232, 33, 233, 246, 228,
163, and 36.

Under MaxUAE all keys were properly emulated, so I still keep a copy of
that outdated program. Has someone an idea how the keyboard emulation
can be fixed? That use of a diskfile for the Workbench had no
influence.

best regards

Fred
