I didn't know about the 0828 version. I used 0302. So the speed
improvement
is huge!
So file access is slow? I'd agree. Perhaps using a hard-file rather
than a
virtual filesystem might improve matters for you? Somebody (sorry, I
don't
remember who) posted benchmarks here some time ago showing that
hard-file
access was notably faster.
The virtual filesystem code needs some serious work. This is not
something I'm
going to tackle before the getting the current development version
released.
