Interesting. Not what I expected, but definitely interesting. ;-)

You still can't access uaescsi.device unit 0?

How about if you try setting UAE_SCSI_DEVICE to 'IODVDServices/0'?

I don't think you would need to on OS X . . .

The 'unable to get exclusive access' message is returned, I suspect, because 
it's trying to open the same device 16 times. I think perhaps a different 
method for scanning for devices on OS X is needed . . .
