BTW, since you don't have Gtk+ I think you should also mention that
you'll
need to build your own version of E-UAE with the configuration GUI
disabled
(use the --disable-ui) option.
When using Gentoo's 'emerge' procedure, one specifies 'USE flags'. All
the GUI options are disabled by default. There's an ncurses option, I
haven't tried it yet!

There is a port of Gtk+ to DirectFB, and it may be possible to use
that, but I
haven't tried it myself yet.
Me neither. I'm not sure how DirectFB works with several concurrent
applications running (they mention 'fusion' and a multi application
core), so I kept everything as simple as possible.
I'll have a look at the keymapping problem with SDL on DirectFB.
