Hello, when writing articles for german Amiga print magazine "Amiga-Magazin" I often need the two french apostrophes like »Shared Library« (I hope they are shown okay here) Here in KMail I can get these on a german keyboard by typing AltGr-X and AltGr->. With "xev" this is: AltGr: KeyPress event, serial 28, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x3b, subw 0x0, time 5969151, (-318,397), root:(436,426), state 0x0, keycode 113 (keysym 0xfe03, ISO_Level3_Shift), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 0 bytes: "" Y: KeyPress event, serial 28, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x3b, subw 0x0, time 5970487, (-318,397), root:(436,426), state 0x80, keycode 52 (keysym 0xab, guillemotleft), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 1 bytes: "«" X: KeyPress event, serial 28, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x3b, subw 0x0, time 5970846, (-318,397), root:(436,426), state 0x80, keycode 53 (keysym 0xbb, guillemotright), same_screen YES, XLookupString gives 1 bytes: "»" But under GoldED Studio AIX in UAE I get different characters instead. Beside doing copy&paste I didn't found a way to get those characters under UAE. Any hints? Regards -- Martin 'Helios' Steigerwald - http://www.Lichtvoll.de
