I can't avail myself of David's suggestion- 'Save File' is greyed out. Maybe because it's a jpg.?

My version of Open Office does not allow me to open docx. files. Update necessary?

I fancy that ifyou download docxreader.exe it will solve the problem -
Peter's at least. Attachment refers.

Good morning everyone

I have received an e mail from the District Council with an attachment
which I cannot open. (This often happens, and I now know how to ask
friends to re-send using a different form, but don't want to have to
write similarly to outside agencies). The following message appears when
I try to open them

'This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing
this action. Create an Association in the Folder Options Control Panel'

I am still using Windows XP and cannot find the 'Options Control Panel'.
I have tried all the folder files, and associated options but nothing
seems to have anything to do with the required action! I think that at
some stage I must get a more up-to-date computer, but am partly put off
by the fact that as soon as one does that, they bring out a new
programme.
