Good Job

Hi Everyone,
As we have previously mentioned, we’ve been having a recurrent problem with
someone removing the arms from the south gate and leaving them disconnected.
Since our keypad has been working, it seems someone without the code has been
repeatedly taking the arms off the gate to gain entrance to Turley Mill.
This has been happening at night.
In an effort to stop this, we have decided to lock the arms to the gate so
they cannot be removed. We will be installing combination locks, which will
be set to the same code as the keypad: 5391. If the gate should
malfunction and our remote controls and the keypad stop working, you will
still be able to get through the gate by removing the arms, but you will
first need to unlock them using that code. If we should change the gate
keypad code in the future, we will change the combinations on the locks at
the same time.
While we are installing the combination locks, we have decided to put one on
the north gate as well. If there is a fire emergency and you need to get out
the north gate, you won’t have to scramble to find your key to the lock. You
will simply need to unlock the combination lock to get out. And, if the
Forest Service or fire department should need to get through the gate to
fight a fire, we’ll be able to give them the code by phone rather than trying
to get a key to them.
If you have any questions about these gate issues please email or call us,
and we can discuss the gates at the upcoming Annual Meeting as well.
Thanks,
Steve Hanks
