As you all know, as a result of the GDPR going into effect in Europe, internet
services are updating their privacy policies. I’m sure you have been
receiving many requests from various services to accept their new data-sharing
rules.
These changes apply to listservs as well, and the listserv provider will be
asking you to agree to the changes. In general the privacy protections will be
better. If you post to the list, you will probably receive an automated
response from the listserv asking you to accept the changes. This will only
happen once. You’ll be required to do it once, however, in order to keep
posting. New subscribers will henceforth be asked to agree to the privacy
rules as part of the subscription process.
I just wanted to alert you that this will be coming, and should only happen
once.
