Department of Geography @ Guelph

The Department of Geography at the University of Guelph operates under a fully 
funded model of graduate studies. All graduate students accepted into the 
program are guaranteed funding (5 semesters for Masters, 9 semesters for PhD). 
Graduate student support is based on a combination of teaching assistantships, 
research assistantships, and, depending on eligibility, scholarships. 
For Fall 2002, fully funded graduate research opportunities in the following 
areas are available: 

Environment and Resources 
* Climate change policy evaluation 
* GIS and environmental analysis 
* Water resources management 
* GIS and watershed management 

Human Geography 
* Economic integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities 
* Rural change and sustainability 
* Political and cultural geography 

Physical Geography 
* Fluvial Geomorphology 
* Wildlife dynamics and geomorphology 
* Coastal geomorphology 
* Disturbance patterns and processes 
* Wind erosion
