EBFA - COVID-19 and Suspension of Handshakes at EBFA Matches
This email, issued on 03-Mar-20, has been sent to all Club Official and Match
Officials registered for 2019/20 on the GotFootball System.
In view of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and following guidance issued by Public
Health England, the East Berks Football Alliance Laeague (EBFA) has decided
that handshakes before and after matches will be suspended until further
notice.
This includes:
1) Handshakes as part of the RESPECT pre-match campaign by Players and
Officials.
2)Handshakes by Captains and Officials at the toss of the coin.
3) Handshakes by Players and Officials after the final whistle.
This does not mean you cannot compliment the opposition Players and Officials
on a sporting match, just No Handshakes to reduce the COVID-19 Risk.
EBFA suspension of handshakes will take immediate effect, for all East Berks
Football Alliance matches, from 03-Mar-20, until further notice from EBFA.
EBFA will closely monitor the situation and follow any future advice and
guidelines set out by the relevant authorities.
