Hi,

If I follow the url pointing to the '$149 Monthly Per Server' offer
https://www.2host.com/support/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=0
The included traffic is announced as:
"- 50TB! Dedicated Bandwidth"
Isn't that less then the current hoster 100tb.com is offering?

Last time I checked, it said 200TB. Maybe it was a limited offer and they changed the deal now, but I also was in contact with a support person about 200TB for that price.

Why would you not migrate to a cheaper hoster (offering the same hw
+ traffic) if the new one even offers the precious custom WHOIS?

It's not that easy. Only because a sales person promises that Tor is not a problem and abuse will be forwarded, this doesn't mean they really accept it later on. It took a lot of convincing on the datacenter side, and on the hoster side once real abuse happened. I think at least Midphase, our current hoster, now understands and is willing to host us, which I can't be sure of for 2Host.

Midphase promised repeatedly to set up custom WHOIS. I don't think it'll help against the huge amount of MediaSentry/BayTSP spam anyway, as that seems to go to a higher level to scare more people off. I'm still waiting for them to set it up though.

Do you know which NIC the 2host server would contain?
(if they have something else then intels e1000e than you might
solve problems without doing much?)

They were unable to tell me, and it's not that simple. From what I've investigated, e1000e is the best supported driver and SHOULD support distributing IRQs, while most other NICs won't at all. 2host doesn't provide demo machines.

We have another group of Tor people using FDC as their ISP for an exit. I don't want to concentrate too much exit traffic there. I don't know for certain if it really makes a difference, but somehow I hope it does.

Moritz
