I also still have a box of 8" floppies that were for a typesetting system. When 
formatted, they held about 200K or roughly one small jpeg. :)

I wasn't aware that 1.2MB 5 1/4" drives came in full-height versions. I thought 
everything was half-height by that time. I do recall seeing some external IBM 5 
1/4" drives in very large enclosures.

5.25" isn't giant.  8" is giant.  :)


I suspect he has a full height 5.25" floppy drive
