I’d make it open source so people can easily change it. I’d also like it to be
around $50. But that’s a goal. The problem is these old systems use old school
edge connectors and DB9 connectors that drive the parts cost up. Then there’s a
case. I’d probably design and 3D a small run or get someplace like shapeways to
do a batch depending on interest.
