That won't work. A d64 is just a container into which you can put files whereas g64 is a bit level backup of a floppy. The reason this software is presented in this form is because it checks for unformatted tracks which is something you can't simulate with a d64. As has previously been discussed, the curious can use an emulator to load the program from g64 and if someone really needs to use it on a 64 they can send me an off-list email and I'll write it out to a floppy for them.
