Carol,

 

I sort moths by the Hodges number. BugGuide usually includes the 5 digit 
number. Moth Photographers Group uses the order. I put the number before the 
name, then sort by name. Instant order. Sorry, I don't know what your moth is.

I know it is a very poor photo and not taken from the right angle, but I 
thought maybe someone might have seen this or something similar and could help 
me out with the ID, or at least get to a family level.  This was taken August 
4, 2008 in my yard.


Also I have been organizing moth photos and using the taxonomy from Bug Guide.  
Is it current or is there something that is better?
