Diana is about 60 miles west of me. We do have Hackberry. In fact, in our
neighborhood, there are literally thousands of Hackberry Emperor butterflies
now. The back roads are covered with them.

Hi Hugh. Ya know I could possibly have the Celtis(Hackberry) tree somewhere
around here. Most anything will grow here in east Tennessee. The hilly area
where I live was an old chicken farm turned into a subdivision. There is a
vacant lot next door and some young deciduous trees there, among other grasses
and weeds. There are several small woods around here and we are just outside
the city limit. There is even a miniature horse farm just over the next hill. I
love my view from my porch. looking straight out about 45 miles are the Smoky
Mountains from one end to the other. The green topped building in the left
side of the photo is the dog park I go to. Love it here.

    Hi Diana,

    Hey that's a good moth! It's A rubricoma, which I believe is a Celtis
feeder. Do you have that plant near your site?
