I looked up Catocala carissima on MPG and couldn not find it. Thanks for 
sending the Tennesseecatocala link, it will be helpful. I've added it to my 
"favorites".

I believe your Cochlis ringsii is correct. 
I think the underwing is Catocala carissima.

Scroll down, and you will find the Catocalas sorted by underwing color, then 
size.  It's a handy guide.  That's where I found Catocala judith.
