Below you will find the results of the inaugural NABA butterfly count held in 
White County, Tennessee, on 22 August.  We are all a bit disappointed by the 
low species count, no doubt the result of the fact that our team was able to 
cover only about 15% of our count circle.  The hope is that we will have more 
workers and better coverage in the years to come.  All in all, however, a 
thoroughly enjoyable and educational day!

Elevation: 600-1100 ft. Includes Bridgestone-Firestone Centennial Wilderness. 
Riparian, farm areas, replanted pine areas, hardwood forests, residential. Uses 
of land: Farming, logging, residential, recreational. 22 August 2009; 0830-1700 
hrs;  sun AM  76-100%, PM 76-100%; 74-82°F; wind 0-10 mi/hr. 4 observers  in 2 
parties. Total party-hours 10.5; total party-miles on foot 4.  Observers:
