The juvenile Trumpeter Swan at Lake Graham was seen early this morning very
near shore, across from the picnic area at the east side of the lake.  It was
accompanied by several Canada Geese, 2 domestic geese, and a Cackling Goose.  I
did not see any fishermen but was away by 0730.
I dropped by the Duck River unit of the Tennessee Wildlife Refuge on the way
home.  There are still good numbers of waterfowl present, and the habitat is in
great shape, much improved since my last visit, and far superior to Cross
Creeks.   I saw a few early shorebirds and there should be many more visitors
in the next few months.
