03/29/13 Humphreys County New Johnsonville Saw the post about the cinnamon teal at 6:30 PM and quickly ran down there. It is still present at the left most pond, which is the largest of the 3. One can park at the ball field parking lot and walk on a nice paved trail to the ponds. There is also some room to park at the entrance to Countrywood Estates across the road from the ponds. If a lot of people parked there it may draw unwanted attention. There are an abundence of white pelicans at Duck River (TN NWR) in Pool 6 just a short ways down the road after entering the Refuge. They are fairly close to the road and pretty tolerant of people. They are flying low over the guard rails between Pools 6 and 7 and 7 and the lake on the outer levee. If you have wanted to see them close (under 100 yards) and get pictures with even an average camera then this is your chance. Best viewing seems to be between sunrise and 8 to 9 AM depending on if/when fisherman put boats in the pool. Clayton Ferrell
