[TN-Bird] surprising new yard bird (almost)

I live in the Bellevue area of west Nashville (Davidson Co.). This evening
at 6:55 PM, when it was close to completely dark, I was pulling up to the
driveway going across a little creek that runs through the adjacent
abandoned property and across along the wooded edge bordering an apartment
complex. Some movement caught the corner of my eye and I looked over to see
an immature night-heron just landing in the mowed grass and walking up to
the creek. It was so dark that I could not really tell much more, but I had
my camera with me so I turned the car around and fired off a couple of shots
to see if the flash would help. None are keepers but I could see the shape
in one of the pics well enough to confirm it was a Black-crowned. I was
definitely not expecting that, since this is a tiny little creek (maybe a
couple of feet across).
