This afternoon I birded The Cove at Concord Park with Angela Hoffman. Highlights included two Osprey soaring overhead and two Brown-headed Nuthatches excavating a hole in a dead tree. Pine Warblers were present, as were Yellow-rumped Warblers and Chipping Sparrows. But winter hasn't quite left us: the Ring-billed Gulls are still on the mudflat and there was an American Coot just down the road. 4 Mallard 2 Great Blue Heron 2 Osprey 1 American Coot 20 Ring-billed Gull 1 Herring Gull 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker 1 Downy Woodpecker 2 Blue Jay 5 American Crow 4 Carolina Chickadee 2 Tufted Titmouse 2 Brown-headed Nuthatch 1 Carolina Wren 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 Eastern Bluebird 6 American Robin 1 Northern Mockingbird 2 Yellow-rumped Warbler 2 Pine Warbler 2 Eastern Towhee 1 Chipping Sparrow 1 Song Sparrow 1 Dark-eyed Junco 6 Northern Cardinal 4 Common Grackle Robin Barrow Knox Co, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
