I saw two large cranes, the size of blue herons but definitely a buff
color, not gray, standing in a field at the intersection of Johnson Grove
Road and Neil Warren Road in Crockett County Tennessee. This is just below
Alamo, just a jot to the west of Hwy 412, maybe fifteen minute north of
Jackson. I am reasonably sure they were sandhill cranes, but had taken my
binoculars out of the car! They flew along the road for a bit, but one
landed and the other circled and appeared to land nearby out of sight. May
be migrating through and not hang in the same place, but if you are in the
area, worth a shot!
