Data for 30 TN Christmas Bird Counts is now accessible under Current
Year's Results at the central CBC database (link info below). This
total is the most ever to be represented in a single CBC season for TN.
It is to be hoped that all remaining CBCs conducted in the state, but
not represented in the CBC database, will soon be brought into the CBC
fold.

The species total for all TN CBCs conducted during the most recent CBC
season is somewhere between 150 and 155. This uncertainty results from
lack of any documentation, or inconclusive documentation, for some rare
species, namely Black Scoter, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Bewick's Wren,
and Gray Catbird. If you reported any of these species for a TN count
conducted during the past CBC season, please make an effort to get
documentation about it to your CBC compiler as soon as possible; if such
documentation is not soon forthcoming, one or more of these species may
be deleted from the count(s) on which it is now listed. However, since
the CBC database is now online, any or all of these species can later be
returned to the database if documentation appears in the future.

As always, many thanks to the several hundred participants on the most
recent TN CBCs, and special thanks to the 27 compilers whose work to
collect and to enter the CBC data is vital to the success of this
imporant bird-monitoring project, the longest running of its kind.
