Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville TN Monday 2009 Sept. 7 7-9 am My wife Bonnie and I took a nice walk at Radnor. Things were very quite at the lake this Labor Day morning unless you were interested in otters. Amazingly, a family of 4 basked briefly on the cement dam edge and one of the younger ones was calling extensively. When the rest swam away it climbed out of the water and came up onto the trail where the lake and spillway trails meet. Continuing to call it wandered down the trail and out of sight as the rest swam out of sight. No eagle was seen. Only 5 warbler species, N. PARULA, MAGNOLIA, REDSTART, CANADA, and the biggest surprise, a female PROTHONOTARY. A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was another nice addition.
