[TN-Bird] purple martins and Katrina

It occured to me that there were probably many thousands of purple martin
houses destroyed by Katrina, and probably only a fraction of those
replaced. Has anyone any knowledge of the impact, and if there is any
movement afoot to spawn new landlords? I might like to write an article on
this, but I guess back in February would have been a lot more useful!
