[TN-Bird] nighthawks / Rankin anyone?

In case you haven't noticed already, Common Nighthawks are
passing through. I had a flock of 10 and ones and twos
totalling 16 passing by the house (West Knoxville) just
before the storms hit last night (31 Aug). Tonight, a
flock of 40-50 passed over while I was taking out the
trash. That's called oppurtunistic birding.

A wedding, Vol game and other commitments have kept me
away from Rankin Bottoms this weekend. Anyone know what
was found on the Greeneville TOS trip yesterday? Based
on the TVA website, looks like the water level has just
entered the 985-980 ft range that gives the best habitat.
I will lead a Knoxville TOS trip there this Saturday (6 Sept)
(despite the Vol game, dang it). Hopefully there will
still be some good birds passing through.
