Steve, I saw two Red Phalaropes last evening at Kingston Steam Plant. I remember that you and I saw the bird there last 9/5/01. I am wondering if this is an early arrival for this bird in our area--I am darn sure that is the bird I saw yesterday from about 300 yards in the first settling pond on the left as you enter from the soccer field area (there is a dredging boat in the settling pond with the birds). Could you advise on the historic arrival dates of this bird in our area? I don't have a copy of Robinson's Annotated Notes. By the way, per your posting, if you have a spare copy of the CBC that you mentioned, I could use it. Thanks. Arthur "Butch" McDade c/o Obed WSR P.O.
