As expected, birds were moving overnight. I heard several thrushes and warbler/sparrow calls before dawn (9/16) including my first Veerys and Gray-cheeked Thrushes of the fall along with the usual Swainson's. Not as much stirring in the yard once the sun came up... Magnolia, Redstart, and a Scarlet Tanager. Best bird was an Osprey catching thermals and working its way down the ridge. Could be a good day for a hawk watch.
