[tn-bird] Re: mockingbirds at feeders?

Mockingbirds do not generally eat sunflower seed, etc. as they are not =
seed
eaters. They commonly come to my feeders to eat suet and will eat frui=
t
when I put that out. I occasionally see them in my sunflower seed feed=
er
scattering seed around but I suspect that they are probably looking for=

insects which may be in the seed rather than eating the seed itself.

Good birding,

I have had feeders in my yard for several years, but I have never had
mockingbirds come to them until this spring. Can someone tell me if thi=
s is
common?

Thanks to all who write...I enjoy reading the bird talk!

Good birding!
