Had my best ever single-fall-day species tally for the backyard before work this morning with 44 species including 6 thrush and 11 warbler species... while missing Goldfinch, Song Sparrow, and a few other common species. Lots of activity in the Black Gums. highlights: backyard, Black Oak Ridge, west Knox Co, TN Monday, 29 Sept 2008 RT Hummingbird, 3+ still going strong here E Wood-Pewee, 3+ E Bluebird Veery, ~5, big tally Gray-cheeked Thrush, at least 1 Swainson's Thrush, 4+ Wood Thrush, 1-2 Am Robin Tennessee Warbler, 2 Chestnut-sided, 1 adult male Magnolia, 2+ CAPE MAY, 1, first of season Black-throated Green, at least 1 Blackburnian, 1 Pine, 1 Bay-breasted, 1 Black-and-white, 1 Am Redstart, 1 Ovenbird, 1, observed 19 of last 22 days Summer Tanager, 1 adult male Rose-breasted Grosbeak, at least 1 Dean Edwards Knoxville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
