I had at least 6 male RTH's at once yesterday - at my feeders and flowering
plants. I attributed it to neighbors (who had never had feeders before this
Spring) with feeders as I have seen many more this year than past. I saw two on
wires over HWY 100 traffic (!) and a dozen zooming over the paved trail on a
5:30 am walk yesterday through Edwin Warner Park. Maybe with all the
development in Nashville area they have fewer feeding sources and are taking
advantage of what they can get?
Right now (p.m.) I have Eastern Whip-poor-wills calling, which is no big deal
but it is the first day of the year I have heard them here (in my yard).
Bigger news: I had a White Throated Sparrow up until 9 exact days ago. I would ;
only see it with a young E Towhee. The two would hop out of the woods (at 10 am
sharp for two weeks - rain or shine) in my backyard together, eat seed off the
ground for 10-15 min, close together, and hop back in the woods. Yes I have
pics, and yes I will put it on E Bird.

In the late afternoon two days ago I had seven adult male Ruby-throated

Has anyone seen that many males at one time? It seems way too early for them
to be heading south in advance of the females.
