Paris Landing State Park

Phillip Casteel and I arrived at almost exactly 8:30am on Monday
morning at Paris Landing State Park to search for the Pomarine
Jaeger found last Saturday. We pulled into the picnic area, got
out with our binoculars, and within a couple minutes had spotted
the jaeger floating on the water to the southeast of our location
and a moderate distance out. After a few minutes it took flight
and eventually over the next 90 minutes was much farther away
and often on the water. Eventually it made one foray close to
the bridge before returning to the same general area where we
first found it. It chased terns several times but had no luck
claiming a fish. Several other birders arrived during our stay,
and we left at 10 am with the bird still in view.
