Carol Reese and others suggested bird was an Eastern Phoebe so I checked my Peterson book and that looks right though I would have thought insect eaters would have departed long ago for warmer climes. Range map shows Eastern Phoebes as being possible in Southern Tennessee in winter so I am going with that as a proper ID. It sure did have a waggly tail! Then there was that male Vermillion Flycatcher that Nancy Moore found at the Reelfoot Lake airport several years back, December 2004 I believe. Many thanks for the help and happy birding in 2014.

Subject: [TN-Bird] in fo needed

ID Needed!
Gray bird appeared on support brace to my feeders. About the size and color of
a Junco. Could never get a look at front but could see throat and breast were
apparently white. Bird only stayed a minute or two and flew off, but whole
time it was on feeder support, its long tail was constantly bobbing up and
down. Got a fraction of a second look at its beak which seemed to be thin like
a flycatcher's. HELP!!!!!

Foul weather farther North has sent quite a few Gold Finches to our tube feeder
in the last couple of days. Juncos by the dozens are here of course along with
resident Eurasian Collared Dove pair, Mourning Doves and of course Northern
Cardinals.
