Hi folks, Ok, there is little about birds here, but I'll start with what I have. We have seen a bit of Mourning Dove love play here, as well. No copulation or nest building, but lots of the male chasing of females that some of us were so fortunate enough to see Kenn Kaufmann portray live in Chattanooga last year (the memory of that STILL cracks me up!) At Tremont (Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Blount County) today we had 3 big First Of Spring observations: 1) Spurred Violet in bloom 2) Trailing Arbutus in bloom 3) male Wood frogs singing and hanging out in the lagoon, awaiting the arrival (probably tonight) of the ladies. All 3 places were checked just yesterday, with no such observations, so I am quite confident they all happened today.
