[TN-Bird] eastern phoebe

I've always had them through winter, and they scavenge the dead insects from my
spiderwebs, etc. You must have missed recent postings about this. I did just
purchase some dried mealworms and put them out on the deck railing just beyond
my bathroom window. Just this morning the phoebe appeared, checked out the
depleted spiderwebs and completely ignored the mealworms. Maybe in time it will
try them...

Carol Reese and others suggested bird was an Eastern Phoebe so I checked my
Peterson book and that looks right though I would have thought insect eaters
would have departed long ago for warmer climes. Range map shows Eastern Phoebes
as being possible in Southern Tennessee in winter so I am going with that as a
proper ID. It sure did have a waggly tail! Then there was that male Vermillion
Flycatcher that Nancy Moore found at the Reelfoot Lake airport several years
back, December 2004 I believe. Many thanks for the help and happy birding in
2014.
