4/20/09 This morning I posted that I had seen an indigo bunting at my feeders yesterday. This morning I looked out at my feeders and had a very good, clear shot of a blue grosbeak, who sat for several minutes on top of one of my feeder poles. His wide chestnut wing bars were clearly visible. Makes me wonder if the quick view I got yesterday of the indigo was really a blue grosbeak. I do have indigo buntings visit my feeders a few times every spring, so it is possible I was not mistaken. I guess I'll never know. Anyway, this is the first blue grosbeak I've ever seen here in Knoxville and I've never seen them in my yard before. In fact, I don't believe I've seen a blue grosbeak in several years. It was quite a treat!
