Steve, John Henderson and I birded Wheeler NWR area plus Guntersville area looking for year birds for AL, garnering 65 species. Highlights included imm yellow-crowned night heron in the Swan Creek area, fly over adult bald eagle just across the TN-AL line in Jackson Co line, 8 species of shorebirds at the observation pond at Wheeler(killdeer, 2 greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, solitary sandpiper, spotted sandpiper, semipalmated sandpiper, 3 least sandpipers, and pectoral sandpiper, 4 Forsters and 2 black terns seen from the Guntersville boat ramp, and an adult and imm scissor-tailed flycatchers across from Big Daddys just south of the TN-AL state line on US Hwy 72. What is the latest on the pelagic trip?
