On my way to work Tuesday morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see an adult
bald eagle by the shallow lake on Carters Creek Pike near Coleman Road.
(several miles south of downtown Franklin) I started taking this route
several weeks ago due to interstate construction. I have been seeing up to 8
blue herons most days, a couple egrets, along with (of course) the ubiquitous
geese. As the crow flies, this is perhaps a mile from where I have seen them
in the past on Mack Hatcher .
