[TN-Bird] aberrations

Today, I walked my dogs our usual route through our subdivision in nw Shelby County just at noontime. I heard/saw two examples of bird behavior that I thought were most unusual. The first was a pair of Barred Owls hooting to each other at the crack of noon on a bright, sunny, cloudless day. The second was a White-breasted Nuthatch foraging contentedly and confidently for some little time on my neighbor's lawn.
