Both Greater(2) and Lesser Yellowlegs(3) were feeding side-by-side at a
pond/temporary mudflat adjacent to the Greenbelt trail at the end of
Stoneybrook Pl off of W. Stone Drive in Kingsport, Sullivan Co, Tennessee this
morning giving a good opportunity for comparing field markings and size. When
side-by-side the Greater appears much larger and with a much heavier and more
upturned bill. Also present was one female Blue-winged Teal.
Two Yellow-crowned Night Herons were present on a nest at the Tranbarger Drive
location this morning (also in Kingsport, Sullivan County).
