Gilbert Derouen, Reece Jamerson and Bryan Stevens birded Tuesday, April 4, at
Winged Deer Park and Austin Springs, Washington Co., on Boone Lake.
At Winged Deer Park, we had Black-throated Green Warbler (2), Blue-headed
Vireo (2) and Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (2).

At Austin Springs, we had Greater Yellowlegs (3) and Lesser Yellowlegs (1) as
well as Osprey, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Field Sparrow, Blue-winged Teal,
Gadwall, Mallard, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Killdeer, Wilson's Snipe
and
Northern Rough-winged, Tree and Barn Swallows.

We also continued to Sullivan County and South Holston Lake. We had a second
Osprey perched in a tree at the Weir Dam/Osceola Recreation Area. Buffleheads
and Mallards were the only ducks we saw. Saw a few Northern Rough-winged
Swallows flying over the weir.

At Musick's Campground on S. Holston Lake, we had 15 Red-breasted Mergansers,
2 Northern Shovelers, 1 Common Loon, 6 Double-crested Cormorants, 3 Lesser
Scaup and several Pied-billed Grebes.

Near Spring Creek Bridge in Washington Co., Va., we found two Cliff Swallows
and our third Osprey of the day.

Bryan Stevens,
Hampton, TN
