I had a telephone report, July 4, of a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron at a nest with at least one fairly large young. The nest is located in a pine tree along Beaver Creek, justin Bristol, Sullivan Co. This is the first known nest of the species in the Beaver Creek drainage of the South Fork Holston River. The owner assured me he had double checked the adult bird today at the nest and his description is right on target for a Yellow-crowned. I have known him for more than 30 years and he has had a bird field guide for at least that long. I hope to see the nest in a few days. Let's go birding...... Wallace Coffey Bristol, TN
